GASČIŪNAI TRADITIONAL CRAFTS CENTER
Gasčiūnai - the village about which a documentary film was made - an exclusive corner of the country, which is nurtured and celebrated by an active community. Cultural heritage is very important to the people of Gasčiūnai, and it is not for nothing that Gasčiūnai in 2017 won the title of Lithuanian capital of small culture. In the clay farm building, the community has established an ethnographic museum, which contains more than 2,000 various exhibits showing how our ancestors lived and worked the land. This museum is open to anyone interested. The community also welcomes guests in the modern center of traditional crafts that it has established. It offers educational programs: clay molding and painting, carving, and more. Bread and buns are baked here according to old grandmothers' recipes. The staff of the center invite visitors to learn this as well. Many ethnic festivals are held in the center of traditional crafts.
